Biography
Sandra has over a decade’s experience as a Psychologist. She graduated from Royal Holloway, University of London with a degree in Psychology and was then awarded her PhD by the University of Leicester in Psychiatry becoming a Chartered Psychologist (of the British Psychological Society) in 1999.
Whilst working with the University of Leicester as an Academic she published many scientific papers and text book chapters on the subjects of relationships and parenting including the book 'Nine women, Nine months, Nine lives' (Potent).
Now working as a Psychology Consultant she has authored two more publications, 'Coping with postnatal depression' which is now available in three languages (Sheldon Press, www.sheldonpress.co.uk/books/0859699307) and ‘Helping new mothers to help themselves’ (Potent), both offering straightforward advice and reassurance for parents-to-be.
Recently she has written and contributed to articles for Psychologies, Red and Prima magazines. Currently she writes a quarterly column for The Sunday Times 'Wellbeing' supplement.
She also participates in various media projects having most recently contributed to 'The Alan Titchmarsh Show', 'Pramface Mansion', and 'Tonight with Trevor Macdonald', and assists in a variety of multi-media marketing campaigns with PR companies such as Markettiers4DC, Ptarmigan PR and Ketchum for organisations such as Honda, Natwest, and ntl:telewest.
Currently she has been commissioned to develop an educational DVD for women and their families about the emotions they may experience after having a baby ‘Be gone Baby Blues’ for release in 2008 (www.orlandodigital.co.uk)
